President Kagame today received in his office a Tanzanian military delegation led by General D.A Mwamunyange, Chief of the Tanzanian Defence Forces. The Tanzanian military delegation is in the country as part of efforts by the two countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two armies.

Speaking to press after the meeting, General Mwamunyange said: “We are here to strengthen ties between our armed forces. During our meeting with the President, he emphasized the need for strong ties and collaboration between the armies of our two countries.”

The Rwanda Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Kayonga said: “cooperation between our two armies has been ongoing and we are only trying to make it even better. We want to work together in areas like training and regional security. The delegation is going to visit several military installations and other parts of our country.”
