President Kagame addresses the International Peace Institute – New York, 21 September 2009
President Kagame today in New York delivered a keynote address at the African Leadership Series of the International Peace Institute. Speaking on Pushing the Boundaries of Peace, Reconciliation and Development , President Kagame said there has been in recent years, a fundamental shift on the continent with Africans increasingly seeking self-driven solutions to challenges facing them, and demanding a more productive and mutually respectful relationship with the international community.

President Kagame at Opening Ceremony of WHO Meeting – Kigali, 31 August 2009
President Kagame today officially opened the 59th Session of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee for Africa taking place this week in Kigali. Among those attending are Festus Mogae, former president of Botswana and chairperson of “Champions for an HIV-Free Generation”, Dr Margaret Chan, director general of WHO, Luis Gomes Sambo, WHO regional director for Africa, as well members of the regional committee for Africa comprising 46 ministers of health.

President Kagame visits Southern Province - Nyamagabe, 24 August 2009
President Kagame on Monday visited Kagano Village, a model community in Uwinyingi sector, Nyamagabe District where he interacted with residents participating in the Integrated Development Program.
President Kagame congratulated residents for contributing to their District's transformation and called on them to intensify their efforts in order to further enhance the economic situation in their district.
President Kagame applauded the people of Nyamagabe district for serving as a positive example of a district that is successfully transforming and achieving good results in development through concerted efforts and hard work.
President Kagame also visited Rukarara III mini hydro which will soon provide electricity on a local grid to Kibirizi Sector.

President Kagame receives Robert Zoellick, President of the World Bank – Kigali, 12 August 2009
President Kagame on Wednesday received Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank Group at Urugwiro. In talks attended by senior Rwandan and World Bank officials, President Kagame expressed his appreciation of the bank’s support to Rwanda’s development, particularly in areas identified as national priorities and commended the productive partnership between the bank and Rwanda. The discussions centered on the strides Rwanda has made and ways to further enhance the existing good working relations for faster and greater impact.

President Kagame meets with President Kabila in DRC - Goma, 6 August 2009
President Kagame on Thursday met with President Joseph Kabila of DRC in Goma. In this historic first working visit, President Kagame was greeted at the Rwanda-DRC border by a guard of honour mounted by the Congolese Armed Forces before holding private talks with President Kabila at the Ihusi Hotel. A joint communique was issued at the press conference following the private talks, outlining commitments aimed at strengthening bilateral ties in several key areas.

President Kagame holds Monthly Meeting with the Press - Monday, 27 July 2009
"I will not relent on being demanding – I intend to be very demanding on accountability and results as long as I am in the role that demands this of me.”
In his opening statement at the meeting the press, President Kagame referring to Sunday’s cabinet reshuffle and other recent changes in government, said that it was his duty, and those he works with to ensure that the transformation of Rwanda happens as fast as possible based on the national vision, plans and strategies.

President Kagame on Thursday afternoon addressed the 2009 World Technology Summit at the Time and Life Centre in New York City. President Kagame spoke about the unprecedented opportunity offered by an increasingly interconnected world and the unmatched potential of technology to transform nations “ ...technology has obliterated the borders that once contained markets, and slowed or prevented communication between peoples...and changed how nationswill live with one another.”
