|President Kagame receives Greater Atlanta Christian School delegation|
Kigali, 15 January 2013
President Kagame today received a delegation from the Greater Atlanta Christian School, led by Mike O’Neal, former president of Oklahoma Christian University. The delegation which also included architects and engineers was in the country on a mission to finalise plans to start the Central Africa School of Excellence in Rwanda, in partnership with the Government.
Speaking to the press after meeting President Kagame, Mike O’Neal said:
“Oklahoma Christian University has had a great relationship with this country and its leadership. When Greater Atlanta was looking for an African nation that is receptive to education to partner with, they found a flourishing relationship with the university and took it up from there. We are so pleased that this is happening.”
The Minister of education, Dr. Vincent Biruta said it was a good thing that such a school is going to be built in Rwanda because it would boost the quality of education not only for Rwanda but the entire region:
“With their experience, capacities and expertise in education, we expect high quality education that will benefit students from Rwanda and the region.”
